Morocco. Agadir. City center. A muslim couple talks on a sidewalk. An orange taxi rides on the asphalt road. Arabic letters on the concrete wall. Small palm tree planted on the pavement. The moslem woman wears a black abaya and a hijab. The abaya is an over layer worn on top of other clothes to hide the lady’s figures when she’s out and about in public. A long and loose item that is rather similar to a cloak, it covers the entire body save for the head, feet, and hands. The hijab generally refers to various head coverings conventionally worn by many Muslim women. Whilst a hijab can come in many forms, it often specifically refers to a scarf wrapped around the head, covering the hair, neck and ears but leaving the face visible. 16.05.2024
