Domchanch, Jharkhand, India: Sudesh Modi (right), 29, and Vivek Modi, 30 are two mica dealers living and working in the city of Domchanch. After buying mica from several collecting agents in the area, the two brothers clean it and sell it to the exporters in Kolkata. Their company employs 50 people and produces 140 tons of "100 percent illegal mica" per month, they say, adding that local authorities cannot afford to prosecute the powerful businessmen involved in the trade.
