Niewolnicy miki - Redux
Dhab, Jharkhand, India: Sunita Kumari, 27, has taught at the Dhab Upgraded High School for the past 11 years, trying to give local kids a chance to build a better future. "I can't change the parents' lifestyle, but I can change that of their kids, if they come to school" she explains. "Most of the kids here are involved with mica. It pains me, but only education can change the future of this village." According to Sunita, despite all the setbacks and dropouts the mentality of locals is changing. While before parents refused even to think about sending their kids to school, now more and more children are attending the lessons.
