Niewolnicy miki - Redux
Dhab, Jharkhand, India: Nikita Kumari, 13, is a 9th-standard-student at the Dhab Upgraded High School. The daughter of a coffee-shop-owner, she comes from one of the few local families which are not involved with mica. Nikita was recently elected school leader and undertakes regular visits to the village houses in order to convince parents to send their kids to school. "People tell me 'Why should we send our kids to school if there are no jobs here?'", she explains. Still, the young girl managed to convince many kids to join the lessons.
